It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I announce the completion of my tenure at Studio Gallery as of September 1, 2019. After three incredible years as Director, I’ll be moving on in order to pursue my further education. My Directorship has afforded me the opportunity to meet and work with an extraordinary variety of artists, board members and partners here in DC, and I know I will miss it.
Through the thoughtfulness and generosity of so many of you, I’ve been unimaginably enriched, both personally and professionally. When I first accepted the keys to this historic space, I could never have imagined the exciting, challenging, and meaningful journey they would unlock for me.
One thing I’ve learned is just how robust and talent-filled our city is. Washington DC is proving itself to be one of the country’s truly significant artistic centers, and I’m confident that Studio Gallery has contributed to that fact through its long and dramatically evolving legacy.
I look forward to working closely with the Studio Gallery Board on a fluid transition into the next phase of leadership, and hope that I can maintain the many vital relationships I have had the fantastic experience of forging with so many of you.
I want to thank my incredible partner David and my family for all of their tireless support over my years as Director, and of course the years before, which led me here. Finally, I’d like to express my profound gratitude to the amazingly talented and dedicated staff members, interns, and artists who have supported me during these three years— I shall be forever indebted to you all for your unceasing commitment and support.
