Lisa M. Allen is a primarily self-taught American photographer who began taking photos at the age of eleven.
Ms. Allen's work is a study of understated beauty and isolation in modern life, at times found in unusual places or conditions.
Ms. Allen's work has been shown internationally at Darkroom Gallery, A Smith Gallery, Delaplaine Art Center, the Center for Fine Art Photography, Touchstone Gallery, theprintspace Gallery, Melrose Lightspace, Frisco Art Gallery, Verizon Gallery, and the online annexes of the New York Center for Photographic Art, 1650 Gallery, and PhotoPlace Gallery. Her work has been published on Umter (Umter.co.uk) and in F-Stop Magazine and Defeated Mag&zine. She received the Best in Show award for Delaplaine Art Center's National Juried Photography Exhibition and was an honorable mention in the Washington Post's 15th Annual Travel Photo Contest.
