Nothing Is The Same

Kathryn Camicia

September 8, 2021 to September 25, 2021

I have created paintings of islands, some imaginary and some real. Each represents a state of being that shows its idiosyncrasies and uniqueness, like people.

This past year of isolation produced states of being that, for better or worse, we must carry with us into the future.  Visualization of these states leads me to islands (the root of the word isolate is the Latin word insula, meaning island).

Now we are entering another state where we combine the past with the conditions of the present.  What that may be is not yet clear except that nothing is the same.
