A 15th-century poem on plum blossoms by Chu Yun-ming inspired my new work. The poem speaks about renewal and hope. In response, I am experimenting with calligraphy that departs from traditional rules: the characters no longer carry intrinsic meaning, yet they preserve the grace and rhythm of their forms. This approach gives me the freedom to delight in the beauty of the strokes themselves, and through them, to express my joy and hope for the future.
